Window Installation Catterick
Replacement Sash Windows & Door Installation in Catterick Village
Mr B was looking to replace his timber sliding sash windows and doors with uPVC. As he lived within a conservation area planning permission was required. At this stage Mr B had been advised it would be unlikely he would get permission to have uPVC windows.
Following on site meetings with Lifetime's representative and the planning officers to view samples of the proposed windows to be installed Mr B was granted the permission required to replace his windows with uPVC. This was subject to conditions, including, 'the windows are hand finished to ensure there are no joints visible where the window is put together so it looks like a timber window'.
The windows installed were white uPVC sliding sash windows with hand finished joints. The Georgian bars on the new windows matched those of the timber windows being replaced. Mr B chose a Black composite door with fan lite that planning officers were satisfied imitated a timber door.
Mr B wanted a low maintenance and energy efficient product yet wanted to retain the traditional character of his property. Lifetime's hand finished sash windows look like a traditional timber window. The double glazed units installed are argon filled low 'e' glass units with warm edge spacers for maximum efficiency.
Mr B contacted Lifetime in early February requiring assistance with his planning application. Our representative was able to meet with planning officers to discuss designs and show samples of the proposed replacement windows. The process took several months but after planning permission was granted Mr B ordered his replacement windows and doors in May. The work was scheduled to be carried out after approximately 8 weeks. The installation team would take 5 days to replace all of the windows and doors.
I would like to take this opportunity to express our satisfaction with the work done, what a difference it has made; even in one week. The team of D and E were excellent and very professional and courteous during installation.
I would also like to thank Philip for all his help and assistance with the planners from RDC, without which I doubt we would have obtained permission.
We have had many comments from various people on how well the house now looks and what a good job your firm did. You never know, maybe some work will come your way out of this!
Once again thank you for an excellent job.
